The USA’s team for the 2023 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge Qualifying competition against Austria has been announced by the USTA and Billie Jean King Cup captain Kathy Rinaldi. The team comprises Jessica Pegula, Coco Gauff, Danielle Collins, Madison Keys and Caty McNally, who will compete at the Delray Beach Tennis Center in Delray Beach, Florida, on April 14-15.

Austria’s team will include world No.93 Julia Grabher, No.219 Sinja Kraus, No.468 Barbara Haas, No.528 Tamira Paszek and No.912 Melanie Klaffner, with Marion Maruska serving as captain.

The Billie Jean King Cup, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2023, is known as the ‘World Cup of Tennis,’ with over 100 nations participating each year. The Qualifying competition is one of nine being held globally in April, and the winners of each will advance to the Billie Jean King Cup Finals this fall to compete for the title. The United States has won the most titles in the tournament’s history, with 18.

The best-of-five match series will commence on Friday, April 14, with two singles matches, followed by two reverse singles matches and a doubles match on Saturday, April 15. If one team clinches victory in the third or fourth singles match, an amended Saturday schedule may be put in place. Billie Jean King will attend the Qualifier, and Wilson will be the official ball of the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup Team.

UPDATE: Sofia Kenin replaces Madison Keys on the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup team for upcoming Qualifier.
