The 2018 Australian Open champion received a wildcard for the WTA 1000 tournament in Canada. The Dane recently took part in the legends competition at the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, but the National Bank Open will be her first non-exhibition event since January 2020. She will also receive a wildcard for the US Open.

This will be Wozniacki’s 12th appearance at the National Bank Open, which alternates between the cities of Montreal and Toronto. Caro claimed the prestigious title in 2010 when the tournament was known as the Rogers Cup, conquering both her semifinal and the final in a single day. In 2017, she was runner-up to Elina Svitolina.

Even though scheduling is a complex task, the National Bank Open tournament director made sure to treat fans with the exact timing of Wozniacki’s grand comeback:

“It’s not always easy to confirm part of the schedule this early because there are several factors that influence scheduling, including rankings, the draw, and participation in doubles. The schedule can even change at the last minute for multiple reasons, such as rain delays that disrupt the order of play. However, we know that this information is very important to our fans, and this is why we have worked hard to confirm certain matches.”

Both Wozniacki’s kids are still under the age of three. The 33-year-old’s daughter Olivia was born in June 2021, while son James joined the family in October 2022.
