Coco Gauff remains candid about her boyfriend even though she doesn’t refrain from mentioning him from time to time. This week at the Qatar TotalEnergies Open, the American teenager described how she spent her days after the Australian Open, including moments enjoyed with her partner.

After starting the 2024 season on a high by defending the ASB Classic title in Auckland, Gauff proceeded to reach the semifinals of the Australian Open, where she lost to eventual champion Aryna Sabalenka.

Talking to the media this week in Doha, Gauff revealed that the first night after losing the Melbourne semifinal that came down to a couple of points she was constantly replaying moments from the match in her mind. Then the Florida native also mentioned that upon returning home, she took a few days off to unwind and spent quality time with her boyfriend:

And then after that, I flew home and then what did I do? Oh, I took off like four days; four-five days. My boyfriend came in town so I hung out with him.

We don’t know anything about the lucky guy, except for the fact that they have been together for quite some time now and that he helped her calm down ahead of her second Grand Slam final. Following the epic triumph at the 2023 US Open, the WTA sensation opened up about a game-changing late-night phone call that helped her ditch the overthinking and ace her focus:

I just called my boyfriend, and I told him let’s talk until it’s time to go to sleep so we spoke until 1:00 a.m. and then I went to sleep.

Gauff’s run at the Qatar TotalEnergies Open ended early as the second seed suffered a surprising 6-2 6-4 defeat to Katerina Siniakova in her opening match. (source: Sportskeeda)
