Kresimir Corak is a 50-year-old Croatian businessman who was previously married to Sanja Duggan, one of the wealthiest women in Croatia. The two were married for four years before divorcing in 2019, reportedly due to the long distance between them, as Duggan split her time between Los Angeles and Zagreb. Before that, Corak was married to Ana Hanzekovic, with whom he has two children—a daughter, Nika, and a son, Luka.

According to Serbian portal Blic Zena, Vekic and Corak met through his daughter, who is around the same age as the tennis star. Despite reportedly being in a relationship for two years, the couple has kept their romance largely out of the spotlight.
Donna Vekic’s past relationship with Stan Wawrinka
Before her relationship with Kresimir Corak, Donna Vekic was best known for dating Swiss tennis star Stan Wawrinka. Their romance, which became public in 2015, was surrounded by controversy, as Wawrinka had recently separated from his wife, Ilham Vuilloud. At the time, their daughter, Alexia, was just four years old. Vuilloud accused Wawrinka of betrayal, leading to speculation that Vekic played a role in the breakup—claims she has consistently denied. Adding to the scrutiny, Vekic was still a teenager when their relationship began, while Wawrinka, 11 years her senior, was already a 30-year-old.
Their relationship was further tested by a public scandal during the 2015 Rogers Cup when Australian player Nick Kyrgios made an infamous on-court remark. During his match against Wawrinka, on-court microphones recorded Kyrgios saying “Kokkinakis banged your girlfriend. Sorry to tell you that, mate,” triggering an explosive fallout and earning Kyrgios a fine. Vekic later admitted that dealing with the incident was difficult, especially with the intense media scrutiny that followed.
Vekic and Wawrinka eventually parted ways in 2019. Reflecting on their time together, she described him as her first serious relationship and acknowledged how challenging the breakup was:
“It’s hard to say that our relationship was a secret. Everyone around us, I mean those from the tennis world, knew that Wawrinka and I were a couple, so it was only a matter of time before it became public. Today, when I look back on that period, I have to admit it was difficult for me. It’s hard for anyone to get over a breakup, especially if it was your first serious relationship, and everything is happening under the watchful eye of the public. What hurt me the most was how the facts were twisted and how they wrote that I was responsible for his divorce, which is miles away from the truth,” Vekić told Cosmopolitan.
Vekic was briefly linked to Croatian tennis player Borna Coric and Dinamo Zagreb footballer Bruno Petkovic, but she never confirmed any of these rumors.

With her relationship with Corak now public knowledge, Vekic seems determined to avoid the media frenzy that surrounded her past romances. The couple has rarely been seen together in public, and Vekic remains focused on her tennis career.
However, in October of last year, Vekic was spotted with entrepreneur Kresimir Corak at Franjo Tudjman Airport in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. The two returned together from London that weekend. Their close friends revealed that they have been in a relationship for two years.
Despite the controversies that have followed her early career, the 2024 Paris Olympic silver medalist is now prioritizing her privacy and professional achievements.
