The USTA has announced that Lindsay Davenport has signed a two-year extension to remain the U.S. Billie Jean King Cup captain through 2027.

Davenport took over the role in 2024 and has since guided the American team to a strong 5–2 record, including a run to this year’s Final, the U.S.’s first since 2018. One of the most accomplished U.S. Billie Jean King Cup players in history, Davenport helped secure three titles during her playing career (1996, 1999 and 2000).
“It’s an incredible honor to serve as U.S. Billie Jean Cup captain, and I’m thrilled and humbled to continue doing it, especially during such an amazing time for women’s tennis in America,” Davenport said. “We have so many amazing ladies competing and winning at the highest levels year-round, and it’s a privilege to get to work with them while wearing the red, white and blue. I’m so looking forward to what we can accomplish together in the years ahead.”
The U.S. team will return to action in April for the 2025 Qualifying round, with both opponent and venue yet to be determined.
