Just days after reaching her second Grand Slam singles final at Wimbledon, Karolina Muchova surprised fans with unexpected surgery news, revealing that while she had planned to enjoy a holiday, life had other plans.

“Plot twist,” Muchova wrote, sharing the latest unexpected turn in her life. Posting a photo from her hospital bed, the world No. 6 revealed that she had undergone a minor surgical procedure that will keep her off the court for a few weeks. While she did not disclose details about the operation, she assured fans that everything went well and that she has already begun her recovery.

Muchova finished runner-up to fellow Czech Linda Noskova in a dramatic three-set Wimbledon final earlier this month. The 29-year-old, who has battled multiple wrist injuries throughout her career, confirmed that she will miss the Canadian Open in Toronto, which begins on August 1. However, she is focused on recovering in time for the US Open, scheduled to start on August 23.
