World number nine Caroline Wozniacki won her fifth career WTA singles title by beating Virginie Razzano 7-6(5) 7-5 in the final of the AEGON International.

In the first set there was one break of serve on each side and then in the tiebreak the sixth seed Wozniacki won the set. The Dane won the see-saw second set too, converting her third match point on Razzano’s failed drop shot.

The world No.25 Razzano still hasn’t managed to win a set against Wozniacki, but in the trophy ceremony both players were positive and happy.

“I think I have a done great job this week,” said Razzano. “It was tough every day but I’m happy to go into the final today and I would like to give congratulation to Caroline. She played well this week, she is a great player.”
