Millionaire athletes Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy have been dating for a couple of months and they like to share a portion of their relationship with the media. In August we witnessed a very public kiss and now Caroline is bragging on Twitter about a personalized golf club her golfer boyfriend gave her.
Is this a new trend, to make up a couple name? This couple is called Wozzilroy and Caroline is already using it on Twitter with a hashtag.
Caroline has asked her racquet sponsor Yonex to make Rory a gift back.
Does this gift-giving resemble a media stunt too much?
The world No.1 Wozniacki is currently in Tokyo, but not playing the Toray Pan Pacific Open any more. After a first round bye, Wozniacki overcame Jarmila Gajdosova 6-1 6-7(4) 6-3 and today she was upset by Kaia Kanepi 7-5 1-6 6-4 in the third round. After losing the first set, Wozniacki dominated the second, but was broken three times in the decider for which she mostly blames her inability to get her serve in.
Making your own compound name is lame. IMO, its usually given by the media. Which is why it reeks of an orchestrated publicity stunt.
Caps321, and to hashtag it on Twitter yourself? All the while the compound name is not even absorbed by the people?
LOL at how everyone is mocking “wozzilroy” plan to become a “brangelina” is a total fail.
Maria and Sascha don’t have a name and they are both very much in a public eye. Very lame on Caroline and Rory’s behalf.
I find the general idea of compound names ridiculous,to be honest. At least they did not make a clothing line named like that 😀
