Seed No.1 Agnieszka Radwanska rolled into the final of the KDB Korea Open in Seoul where she will face third seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova. Their head-to-head record is 2-1 for Radwanska. They met this year at the US Open where Agnieszka managed to eliminate Anastasia in the third round with the tiebreak closing the match 6-4 7-6(1).
In the Seoul semis Radwanska blitzed Lara Arruabarrena of Spain in straight sets 6-0 6-2 after only one hour and four minutes. This is the Pole’s fourth straight-set victory. Previously she eliminated Alexandra Cadantu of Romania 6-4 6-0 in the first round, Estrella Cabeza Candela of Spain 6-2 6-1 in the second round and Vera Dushevina of Russia 6-2 6-0 in the quarterfinals.
Pavlyuchenkova fought till the end with all she had against Francesca Schiavone of Italy. The Russian won in straight sets after closing both sets with a tiebreak 7-6(11) 7-6(6) during two hours and 23 minutes. Now the two are tied in their head-to-head meetings at 3-3. (photo: © Neal Trousdale)
