While I was out and about celebrating the start of the new year and neglecting my blogging duties :P, Rory McIlory made the best out of New Year’s Eve and proposed to his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki. The couple has never been shy of sharing their lives on Twitter and the golfer informed the world about his engagement on the social networking site on December 31st:
Happy New Year everyone! I have a feeling it’s going to be a great year!! My first victory of 2014 #shesaidyes!!
The 23-year-old Wozniacki also mentioned the big news:
Happy New Year everyone! Rory and I started 2014 with a bang! … I said YES!!!!
Caro and Rory have been dating since the summer of 2011, while the relationship was publicly confirmed when Rory kissed her in front of everyone during the New Haven Open in August 2011.
By the way, Victoria Azarenka said she knew the wedding bells were just around Wozniacki’s corner, but the Dane supposedly didn’t believe it:
And I was like, ‘And you are obviously. You’re going to be engaged.’ She was like, ‘No.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, you will be.’ So I was right… They seem really happy and I’m really happy for them.

Happy for them! I just hope it won’t affect Caro’s focus negatively. I’m really excited to see what Hogstedt has brought to her game.
