Looking wonderful in her blue Adidas Adizero dress, Ana Ivanovic continued her recent run of form highlighted by the Auckland title and after a first-round victory over Kiki Bertens the 14th-seeded Serb advanced to the third round of the Australian Open with a comprehensive 6-1 6-2 win against Annika Beck.

Ivanovic’s next test will be a sterner one – home favorite Samantha Stosur, who also breezed into the third round, losing just four points on first serve during her 6-2 6-0 victory over Tsvetana Pironkova, the Bulgarian who has dramatically raised her status with her recent Sydney title.

Stosur leads Ivanovic 4-3 in head-to-head stats and she won their sole Australian Open encounter in 2006, although Ivanovic was victorious in their last meeting, at the Garanti Koza WTA Tournament of Champions in Sofia in the closing of the 2013 season.
