Mandy Minella marries her coach Tim Sommer

It’s always a pleasure to add wedding news to our WTA Players and their Love Partners section.

Thanks to Women’s Tennis Blog’s faithful reader Frank, we have learned that Luxembourg’s WTA star Mandy Minella got married to her coach Tim Sommer on 17th October 2014, in her hometown of Esch-sur-Alzette. The world No.148 played the BGL BNP Paribas Luxembourg Open, lost in the first round to Mona Barthel and then a few days later tied the knot. What would have happened had the 28-year-old gone further at the tournament? 🙂

Marriages between women’s tennis players and their coaches have always been commonTatjana Malek married her coach Charles Edouard Maria last year, the late Elena Baltacha was married to her coach Nino Severino, Li Na was coached by her husband for a long time, while there have been relationships such as the one between Serena Williams and Patrick Mouratoglou, Tamira Paszek and Andrei Pavel, etc. Can you expand my list? These are the first examples that crossed my mind.
