We always try to plan our life in such a way to maximize our productivity and success, but we often learn that life likes to take its own course. That’s exactly what has now happened to world No.23 Dominika Cibulkova.

The Slovak has recently revealed that she needed to undergo an Achilles surgery, but in order not to miss the lucrative part of the season she said she would compete all the way through the US Open and would peacefully treat the injury when all the 2015 Grand Slams are finished. However, just about ten days after updating us about that plan on her official website, Cibulkova releases the news that the operating theater will see her already on Monday.

The problematic Achilles on the left leg has bothered Cibulkova for years and it got further injured during her match against Andrea Petkovic at the Diamond Games in Antwerp. The 25-year-old hopes to be ready for the grasscourt action this season. (photo: Jimmie48)
