Serena Williams US Open 2016

Serena Williams broke so many records that she must also be the holder of the largest number of records in women’s tennis. Today at the US Open the American added another record to her biography, as by winning her 307th Grand Slam match the world No.1 surpassed Martina Navratilova, clinching the leading position for total Grand Slam matches won in the Open Era.

Wearing the white version of the NikeCourt Power Dress and bringing the edge with pink sleeves, Williams routinely defeated Sweden’s Johanna Larsson 6-2 6-1 in the third round of the US Open, making the second week of at Flushing Meadows for the sixth straight year.

It’s no surprise that the six-time US Open champion is having a hard time finding new things to achieve in her career, as we can see from her post-match comment:

It was something I didn’t even know about until Wimbledon. I was like, ‘Oh, I have a new goal.’

In the fourth round, the top-seeded Williams will face Kazakh Yaroslava Shvedova, whom she has never lost to in their four previous meetings.
