Refreshed classics: Fila’s new Heritage tennis clothes for Indian Wells and Miami 2017

With their athletes Karolina Pliskova and Timea Babos winning WTA titles in February, Fila will enter the month of March with high hopes and a new Heritage collection which pays homage to the historic trio of red, white and navy with a fresh touch provided by the re-introduction of the brand’s archival green hue. Fila-sponsored athletes are set to showcase the new range at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, followed by the Miami Open.

Former world number one and today’s birthday girl Jelena Jankovic is slated to wear the striped dress, officially called the Fila Spring Heritage II Racer Dress. Yet again we’re having a successful blend of modern and retro aesthetic, as traditional navy and white stripes are freshened up with the lovely green waistband. There’s nothing better than a classic simple design that looks hip and contemporary.

Fila’s currently most successful representative, world No.3 Karolina Pliskova, will sport the collection’s separates. Above you can see the Fila Spring Heritage II Full Coverage Tank, the Fila Spring Heritage II Skirt and the Fila Spring Heritage II Jacket. Besides several types of tanks, the wide Heritage assortment of tops also includes cap sleeve, 3/4 long sleeve and sleeveless polo shirt options.

Additionally offered are several skort styles, my favorite being the Fila Spring Heritage II Pleated Skirt with its contrast trim at the back hem and front pleats framed by contrast insets.

The Fila Spring Heritage II Printed Dress, that looks as if Venus Williams created it, will be worn by additional Fila-sponsored tennis players. The busy dress has a feminine silhouette created by the fitted waist with an A-line skirt.

Most items offer the all-important UV 30 protection.

  1. I love the printed dress. I hope Julia Goerges wears it. JJ’s dress is ok. I actually love the separates more than the full dress. Very sporty and fresh design for Kaja.

  2. I really really wish this was their aus open colection. However I also think this will also suit clay courts
