After leaving us without new whites at Wimbledon, just days after reaching her ninth final at the grasscourt Grand Slam, Venus Williams is launching a colorful new EleVen collection — Needlepoint.
Inspired by a decorative needlework on canvas, Venus Williams used this embroidery technique of our grandma’s and put it in a contemporary setting with modern cuts and colors to create a fresh and innovative set of tennis clothes for women.
The highlight of the collection is the sleeveless Dulcet Dress, which captivates with its popping print and feminine silhouette including power mesh back and front insets. Besides the floral pattern, the collection also includes solid items in white, cyan, cherry and peony for mixing and matching.
In addition to the standout dress, the collection features a sports bra, tanks, sleeveless, cap-sleeve and long-sleeve tops, leggings and capris, skirts, and a jacket, all perfect to wear in the heat of summer, being equipped with EleVen’s Pro-Dri, a quick-dry performance and breathability fiber, and offering maximum protection from harmful UVA and UVB rays.
I really like this EleVen Needlepoint Interlace Skirt, because of the contrasting mesh side overlay, and the printed version of the EleVen Needlepoint Slow Burn Jacket, which also exists in peony.
I also adore the accessories: this neat backpack, reversible tote and a headband.
This is my favorite Venus’ range this year, because I admire how she reinvented old-fashioned needlework and outdated floral style to make it look fresh and vibrant. The print’s azure base is spot-on! What do you say?

Congratulations to Aga for her wedded bliss, meanwhile in New York, Eugenie Bouchard is teaming with LPGA star Michelle Wie in a Nike promo where they are teaching each other their respective sports wearing some “hot” sportswear that looks like it was meant for Brittany Spears. And this was on Monday, just 2 days after Wiesy pulled out of The US Women’s Open at the Donald Trump course with severe neck pain. Guess she was okay to model Nike sports wear and swing a tennis racquet! 😉
