Venus Williams is set to bring the spring bloom to the fall of 2017 with her EleVen Floral Brocade collection inspired by Mexican painter Frida Kahlo.

The strong floral prints and performance features parallel the worlds of art and athleticism.

Venus describes the story behind the new collection:

Ms. Kahlo transformed the art world with her self-portraits and use of florals and incorporation of beautiful colors. Despite the challenges she faced throughout her life, she never gave up on her goals and desire to pursue greatness. She represents beauty, perseverance and success – the muse behind Floral Brocade.

Like all Venus’ collections, Floral Brocade offers a wide range of shirts, tops, pants, leggings, and accessories, while my favorites are the above-shown Pelisse Dress and tennis backpack.

For the photoshoot, Venus herself chose the cherry Floral Brocade Center Stage Cap Sleeve (left) and the Floral Brocade Recoil Skirt (right).

What do you think about this latest print? Do you like the idea of flowers brightening up the gloomy fall days?

Venus’ upcoming tournament is the Prudential Hong Kong Tennis Open which starts on October 9th.

  1. CLT, I agree that the designs don’t remind of Frida Kahlo’s work, but then again she was just an inspiration and Venus may see her differently, plus Venus gave her own touch in Floral Brocade.
