Karolina Pliskova has earned the privilege to play the WTA Finals in Singapore for the second year in a row and this time Fila is equipping the Czech with the Game Day collection, which reinterprets the company’s iconic 70s pinstripe with a fresh palette of heather grey, white, and furo coral.
The world No.3 Pliskova, whose 2017 season will stay remembered for her No.1 ranking achieved following Wimbledon, will debut the Game Day Racer Back Tank and the Game Day Skort at the Singapore Sports Hub starting October 22nd. The tank is characterized by colorblocks, pinstripes and ruching at the front neckline, while the skort features a contrast waistband in charcoal and pleated center back panel.
Fila started this trend of refreshment with pastel colors with the retro geometry of the 2017 US Open collection and I’m really pleased that they are continuing to combine their signature design elements with seasonal runway cues.
The Game Day range, featuring a total of four silhouettes of tops (racerback tank, strappy tank, full coverage tank and short-sleeve top), two skorts, a dress, a half-zip top, a jacket, and a jogger, will be available beginning in November at Tennis Warehouse US and Tennis Warehouse Europe.
I know many have fallen in love with the Adidas retro collection designed by Pharrell Williams. This collection for the men was one of my favs, too, but I think FILA stole the fashion show for the entire year’s worth of designs. Classy, sporty, and cute colors/designs really came together!
Jess, I love Fila’s introduction of soft colors, but when I look at their 2017 season, my favorite is the collared navy, green and white look from the French Open. Stay tuned, as during the off-season I’ll publish a complete overview of all Karolina Pliskova’s 2017 outfits.
I really love Kaja’s jacket here.
