A few hours ago, world No.3 Caroline Wozniacki posted a photo of her engagement ring on social media, revealing that her relationship with NBA player David Lee has risen to a serious level. David and Caro have been dating for over a year now and he proposed yesterday during their vacation in Bora Bora.
The first rumors about them dating started during the 2016 US Open and they confirmed the relationship on Valentine’s Day this year, when Wozniacki posted a picture of a gift she received from her boyfriend. Ever since, we’ve been spotting David at WTA tournaments, including during Caro’s recent spectacular run to the WTA Finals title in Singapore. What a finish to the year for the Dane, who’s now crowned her amazing tennis season with engagement!
David revealed the happy news by posting the above photo and saying:
She said YES! So thrilled to be engaged to my soulmate!
Caro, on the other hand, showed her beautiful ring, saying:
Happiest day of my life yesterday, saying yes to my soulmate.
Caroline’s engagement ring is a Joey Hamra classic 8.88 carat D color flawless in clarity oval diamond ring. The jeweller posted pictures on Instagram, showing his enthusiasm for the upcoming wedding.
When Caro and her soon-to-be-husband posted pictures on social media, the WTA players were prompt to react. Monica Puig, Agnieszka Radwanska, Lucie Safarova, Aleksandra Wozniak, Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Melanie South all congratulated the happy couple.
As you certainly remember, Wozniacki was previously engaged to golfer Rory McIlroy: the couple spent three years together before the golfer decided to end it over the phone when the wedding invitations had already been sent out! Wozniacki handled the situation with grace and she has definitely moved on.
I’m so happy that Wozniacki has found her happiness outside of the court and I’m wishing all the best to the beautiful couple.
