Australian Open PHOTOS: Day 4 second-round WTA action

5

Thursday at the Australian Open was all about second-round matches and our photographer Jimmie48 attended most of them, including Maria Sharapova‘s victory over Anastasija Sevastova on Rod Laver Arena, Angelique Kerber‘s win over Donna Vekic, Simona Halep‘s defeat of Eugenie Bouchard and Madison Keys‘ easy way past Ekaterina Alexandrova. I apologize for the delay in posting this gallery, I got the photos late as well, because my photographer is very busy with the coverage of such a big tournament. Enjoy the gallery!

  1. Okay, I guess I’ll be rooting for Angie Kerber, my girl Jelena Ostapenko, and/or Maddie Keys in this year’s AO with the queen of the court missing in action (GOAT=Serena Wms.). Angie just got done with steamrolling Maria Sharapova, thankfully. Kerber played some fantastic tennis and wasn’t fairly talked about by Chris Everett. Thanks, Patirck McEnroe, for giving Angie credit where credit was due. She was the real fighter out there, for sure. It was also sweet to see you and big bro., Johnny Mc, commentating together during the Gasquet/Federer match. “Go, Angie Baby! You’re looking good, girl.”

  2. Angie Kerber played some really awesome tennis dismissing “not-on-meldonium-Sharapova” in just an hour. She also looked stunning in the new Adidas outfit, I really like the combination of grey and lime as well as the design. Truly nice to see Angie back, all the luck to her!!

  3. SharapovaFun, I suppose it’s because it’s their standout outfit and Kiki lost so early in the tournament.
