Thursday at the Miami Open was all about second-round action, highlighted by the appearance of world No.1 Simona Halep, who avoided a shock defeat to Oceane Dodin by fighting back from a set down to beat the Frenchwoman 3-6 6-3 7-5. Of course, our photographer Jimmie48 was there, as well as at most other R2 WTA matches, including Carina Witthoeft‘s big win over fellow German Julia Goerges, Alison Riske‘s upset of Caroline Garcia, Victoria Azarenka‘s passage into the third round when Madison Keys retired from their match early into the second set, in addition to photographing the victories of Sloane Stephens, Agnieszka Radwanska, Angelique Kerber, Karolina Pliskova, and Wang Yafan.
