Saturday was my photographer Jimmie48‘s last day at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, hence the bigger delay in posting this semifinal gallery. Defending champion Elina Svitolina dispatched Anett Kontaveit in straight sets in the first semifinal, while in late afternoon Simona Halep needed two hours and 23 minutes to see off Maria Sharapova in three sets. Just how thrilling that second semifinal was and how much the victory meant to Halep, our photographer managed to capture in the Romanian’s intense reactions.
