Rain-free Day 1 of main-draw play at the 2018 is in the books and one of the favorites Elina Svitolina already survived a major scare in the morning match against Ajla Tomljanovic that kicked off Sunday’s schedule, while later on defending champion Jelena Ostapenko got eliminated by Kateryna Kozlova and seven-time Grand Slam winner Venus Williams fell to Wang Qiang.
