Naomi Osaka takes her Aussie Open trophy to Brighton Beach

Twenty-one-year-old Naomi Osaka won her second consecutive Grand Slam title at the Australian Open and on Sunday morning the youngster enjoyed a Brighton Beach photoshoot with her Daphne Akhurst Memorial Cup.

After overcoming Petra Kvitova in the mouth-watering final, Osaka became the first player from Japan to reach the No.1 ranking.

Osaka took her giant trophy for a stroll in the picturesque setting of Melbourne’s Brighton Beach. Remember, the first Asian Grand Slam champion Li Na, who presented the trophies to the Australian Open finalists this year, also posed for photographers with her 2014 Australian Open trophy on the Brighton Beach.

For the memorable photoshoot, Osaka chose a colorful Cushnie dress and accessorized with chunky gold earrings. Luckily, she didn’t have to bother about shoes.

Retired WTA star Daniela Hantuchova congratulated Osaka on her achievement on Instagram and revealed that she wore the same dress at last year’s US Open.

The youngest active multiple major winner already has vast experience in big matches, but her champagne popping skills are still on the rookie level. 🙂

Osaka’s goal now is to continue to play well during the entire season and not just at hardcourts.

Big things are yet to come, for sure. Osaka is currently No.1 with two Grand Slam titles and the Indian Wells title to her name, while last year at this time she was the world No.72 without a WTA champion’s trophy in her résumé.

Thank you, Jimmie48, for these beautiful photos!
