A few days ago, Russian Alla Kudryavtseva posted the ultimate Instagram photo series as the ten-year challenge meme, showing how much she and her fellow WTA stars from Russia have changed in the past decade. We know that baby boom has taken over women’s tennis, but Alla reminded us to what extent.

This 2008 photo shows Elena Vesnina, Alla Kudryavtseva, Nadia Petrova and Anna Chakvetadze (from left to right). Ten years later, they are all moms enjoying family life.

Three years into her marriage with Pavel Tabuntsov, Vesnina brought daughter Elizabeth into this world in November 2018.

Kudryavtseva got married in August 2018 in Denmark and in December of the same year she gave birth to a baby boy.

Petrova has been off the radar for years, but we do know that the former world No.3 became a mom to a baby girl in July 2018, according to Chakvetadze’s tweet at the time.

Speaking of Chakvetadze, the Russian also crowned her marriage with a newborn girl in 2018, in the month of October. In August, the 31-year-old released a number of beautiful pregnancy photos taken by a professional photographer.

These are just Russian WTA babies born in 2018! Maria Kirilenko has a boy and a girl, Vera Zvonareva has daughter Evelina and is again successful on tour, having recently reached the semifinals of the Premier-level St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy, Elena Dementieva has a baby girl Veronika, Anna Kournikova gave birth to twins in late 2017, Evgeniya Rodina has a six-and-a-half-year-old daughter Anna, and not to mention Anastasia Myskina who is a mom of three, now already big children.

  1. It’s amazing to see how top woman players transform into mothers. We wonder if they will be able to be back or want to come back to the pro tennis world, traveling all year around again.
