Fila is going an extra mile for this year’s BNP Paribas Open. Just days after launching the Aqua Sole collection ready to be sported by Karolina Pliskova, Ashleigh Barty and Kiki Bertens, Fila is revealing another, this time limited-edition collection, to be worn by WTA doubles world No.4 Timea Babos of Hungary.
While bright colors of the Aqua Sole collection show Fila’s willingness to go along with the new tennis fashion wave, this special-edition P.L. Rolando collection celebrates the company’s heritage and its iconic style. Nowadays, the red, white and navy color palette brings a traditional vibe to an outfit, while back in the days of Fila’s original creative director, Pierluigi Rolando, it shook the world of tennis whites.
Rolando was the first to bring color to the court in 1973. Moreover, his use of print, pattern, and fabrication solidified Fila as a boundary-pushing design house, laying down the groundwork for what would become nearly 50 years of the brand’s position among tennis fashion leaders. This new P.L. Rolando collection pays homage to the innovator’s legacy by bringing his sketches to life and reviving his archival looks.
This fortnight at Indian Wells, the Grand Slam doubles champion Babos will wear modernized versions of Fila’s traditional red, white and navy colorways, featuring geometric panels of contrasting colors over a diagonal colorblocked print.
The women’s collection includes a racerback top, navy skort with elastic Fila tape at the waistband and a navy and red dress with criss-cross straps. Classic-style warm-up jackets and pants are also added to the mix. When it comes to footwear, Babos will wear the Axilus 2 Energized, in inline colorways.

I think this is great!
