Main-draw action kicked off at the BNP Paribas Open and our photographer Jimmie48 attended several notable matches on Wednesday.

The news of the day is that we’ll have a rematch of the 2016 Indian Wells final, as Belarusian Victoria Azarenka defeated compatriot Vera Lapko 6-2 6-3, setting up a blockbuster with Serena Williams in the second round. Vika won the final three years ago and the trophy ceremony produced one of the funniest WTA photos that year.

Australian Daria Gavrilova recorded her first win in 2019, in her seventh match played this season, beating Dayana Yastremska of Ukraine 6-2 5-7 6-2.

Besides these two notable singles matches, our Jimmie48 also covered the doubles victory of Kirsten Flipkens and Johanna Larsson over Sloane Stephens and Eugenie Bouchard.

We also have photos from the All-Access Hour with Angelique Kerber, Sloane Stephens, Petra Kvitova, Elina Svitolina, and Karolina Pliskova.
