International Women’s Day at the BNP Paribas Open was highlighted by the Serena Williams vs. Victoria Azarenka second-round blockbuster and our Jimmie48 attended the clash from start to finish, bringing us many wonderful photos, including the American’s fierce celebration on match point and the players’ friendly net exchange at the end of the match.
Besides the epic clash, our photographer made it to most of the second-round matches on Friday, including Simona Halep‘s victory over Barbora Strycova (notice the Czech’s Barbie-inspired Sergio Tacchini dress), Garbine Muguruza‘s straight-setter against Lauren Davis, Elina Svitolina‘s late thriller against Sofia Kenin, and Daria Kasatkina‘s exit at the hands of Marketa Vondrousova. All this and more is in our gallery below!

Beautiful shot-making and foot movement/speed from the GOAT, Serena Williams; hitting angles & corners like magic; the serve was on point also; looking like her “old” self again. This was one amazing match between two gutsy mommies! Best tennis match I’ve seen this year. Congrats to both ageless living legends, Venus & Serena Williams; they both seem to only get better with age! Have you guys seen the video of Serena’s cute little daughter running swiftly around their at-home tennis court? She ran so fast, one of her shoes popped off her foot! It really looked like someone sped up the video, but I played it over and over again, watching her dad’s movement; that baby was legit running like a track star! Her athletic body build is just like Serena’s. Can’t wait to see which sport(s) she’ll excel in.
The Real Deal, I can imagine how athletic Olympia is. She’s so cute. Can you share the link to the video here? I haven’t seen it.
