Tuesday at the Nature Valley Classic was cut short due to rain and the most notable match transferred to tomorrow is Donna Vekic vs. Ashleigh Barty, as the Nottingham runner-up and the reigning Roland Garros champion will face each other in Wednesday’s opening match on the Ann Jones Centre Court. Still, our photographer Jimmie48 spotted both Donna and Ashleigh at the Edgbaston Priory Club, as the Croat was caught practicing, while the Australian was seen watching her doubles partner Julia Goerges come from behind to defeat Dayana Yastremska.

Even though Naomi Osaka feels uncomfortable on grass, the top seed survived Maria Sakkari in the first round and will next face Yulia Putintseva, who dispatched Harriet Dart. Former French Open champion Jelena Ostapenko needed just 51 minute to beat Polish qualifier Iga Swiatek in the first round, Petra Martic defeated Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Kristyna Pliskova set up a rare meeting with her twin sister Karolina in the second round by defeating Viktoriya Tomova.

  1. Jacob, I don’t really understand the purpose of his comments. Especially his sentence: “They do not know how to write or read, but every time someone comes from there, they come out with technical knowledge from A to Z.” Oh lord, it’s not even worth paying attention to.
