Nike-sponsored Sloane Stephens is now endorsing iconic Air Jordan shoes, having recently done a photoshoot for the new Air Jordan Aqua collection.
Wearing an elegant black-and-white striped shirt, Stephens showcases the women’s-exclusive Jordan Air Latitude 720 model in the aqua color palette. The shoe delivers a space-age look with its ultra high-cut textile upper and the metallic straps taking inspiration from the original Air Jordan VIII.
On her Instagram, Stephens also posted photos in the women’s-only Air Jordan 8 “White Aqua”, a retro look that was originally released back in 2007. This makeover includes bold colorblocking defined by aqua blue on the midsole, tongue, throat, and the criss-crossing straps’ velcro closures.
As Baseline points out, the AJVIII “Aqua” collection will be Stephens’ footwear of choice for off-court appearances, while the American will continue to rock the Nike Air Zoom Zero model on the tennis court. Talking about the Nike Air Zoom Zero shoes, after the white Wimbledon model, Nike introduced an animal print version, officially in colors wheat/hyper jade/desert ore/metallic silver. Stephens introduced the eye-catching shoes while playing for the New York Empire team at Cary Leeds Center for Tennis & Learning as part of World Team Tennis.
The world No.8 Stephens’ next WTA tournament is the July 29th–August 4th Citi Open, which the American won four years ago by beating Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova in the final.
