Less than two weeks after stunning world No.1 Ashleigh Barty to reach her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon 2019, Alison Riske married her long-time partner Stephen Amritraj.

The wedding took place in Alison’s hometown of Pittsburgh. There was a church wedding, followed by a party to remember.

The highlight of the evening was Alison and her sister Sarah doing a Bollywood number.

According to Good Housekeeping, Alison and Stephen probably started dating some time in 2014, while they got engaged in June 2016.

Riske’s husband has been in the tennis world all his life. His father Anand and his uncle Vijay led India to the Davis Cup final in 1974 before refusing to play in apartheid South Africa in protest and went on to have long tennis careers. After being introduced to tennis while he was a baby, Stephen started playing seriously at the age of eight.

Currently, Stephen is the Chief Tennis Officer at Universal Tennis Rating, where his biography states:

Tennis has given me everything in my life. From lifelong friends and a sense of purpose to a college scholarship at Duke University and global education on the tour, to dreams coming true in working for American tennis and meeting my future wife, Alison. I have seen almost every side of it as a son to a junior, collegiate, and professional player to a coach to a promoter to an administrator to a fiancée. I’ve been in it my whole life and will be in it for the rest of my life.

After ending his playing career because of injuries, Stephen became a coach and he appreciates having had the opportunity to work with big names such as Mardy Fish, Sam Querrey, Steve Johnson, Danielle Collins, Rajeev Ram, Austin Krajicek, and many others.

  1. Alison has always been one of my favorite players on the WTA tour. It was amazing to see her do so well during the grass season this year…especially at Wimbledon!

Congratulations and all the best to Alison and Stephen!

  2. Congrats to Ally and her new hubby! Got to love Alison! Thoroughly enjoyed her run at this year’s Wimbledon; gave Serena a run for her money! Now, go make some beautiful babies, you 2 beautiful people. Run off into the sunset and enjoy the specialness of marital bliss.

  3. Wish she and her hubby would’ve done the Bollywood dance together as newlyweds (perhaps they did in another video). Too cute!
