Round-robin phase of the Mutua Madrid Virtual Pro completed on Tuesday, with Fiona Ferro, Sorana Cirstea, Caroline Wozniacki and Kiki Bertens reaching the quarterfinals by winning all their three round-robin matches and earning the leading positions in their respective groups.
Besides the four undefeated players, the second-ranked players from each group have also made the final eight: Belinda Bencic, Johanna Konta, Bianca Andreescu and Donna Vekic. It was an unbelievable comeback… the fact that I picked up a PlayStation one week ago, this means a lot.
Besides saying that she considers Bertens to be the favorite, Wozniacki commented on her own gaming skills:
I just got my PlayStation a few days ago, so I guess I’m a natural.
