Petra Kvitova defeated Karolina Muchova 6-3 6-3 in the final of the Czech Tennis President’s Cup, a three-day event in Prague with very restricted audience as the sport is slowly getting back to normalcy after the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted the official WTA season.

On Day 1 of the tournament, Kvitova won her first match since February’s Doha final, beating Barbora Krejcikova 7-6(3) 6-2. In the semifinals on Day 2, the two-time Wimbledon champion battled past Katerina Siniakova 7-5 6-4, and on Day 3 she became the champion in the eight-women field consisting only of players from the Czech Republic.

In the first set of Thursday’s final, the 12th-ranked Kvitova recovered from a 3-1 deficit by winning five consecutive games to take the set. Kvitova opened the second set with a 3-0 lead against the world No.26 Muchova, but a couple of games later the match was suspended due to rain. After the delay, Muchova was serving to level the set to 4-4, still, it was Kvitova who won two games in a row to triumph in straight sets.

During the tournament in her home country, Kvitova was wearing the Nike Summer Paris Dress and Nike Summer Paris Jacket from the Nike Summer 2020 collection which she would have debuted this week at Roland Garros had the Grand Slam not been postponed due to the novel coronavirus shutdown. The Czech tennis ace completed the look with Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Platinum/Grey tennis shoe.
