Saturday at the Credit One Bank Invitational in Charleston ended with a 20-13 lead of Team Peace when rain washed out the tournament’s final singles match, the one between Bethanie Mattek-Sands and Shelby Rogers.

Team Kindness has a slim chance of winning the event on Sunday — for Madison Keys’ team to triumph, they would need to win at least three of the four doubles matches tomorrow and if their team loses the non-televised singles match opening Sunday’s schedule, they would need to win all the four doubles matches.

Team Kindness’ captain Madison Keys kicked off Saturday’s play with a 6-3 5-7 [10-2] victory over Sofia Kenin, decreasing her team’s deficit from 14-10 to 14-13, as matches started being worth three points this weekend.

However, Bethanie Mattek-Sands’ Team Peace quickly increased the gap again, as Ajla Tomljanovic and Caroline Dolehide defeated Leylah Fernandez and Monica Puig 7-6 7-6(2), followed by Jennifer Brady‘s third consecutive win this week in Charleston, this time 6-2 7-6(4) over Sloane Stephens to add three more points for Team Peace.

Sunday’s schedule will see all 16 players take the court and a winning team will be decided.
