Anastasija Sevastova won the second stage of the Bett1 Aces exhibition in Berlin on Sunday, while Andrea Petkovic took the third place.

Anastasija Sevastova was the last player to enter the Bett1 Aces draw, when Caroline Garcia withdrew because of a foot injury, and the Latvian walked away with the champion’s trophy. After beating Kiki Bertens and Elina Svitolina, the world No.43 rallied from a set down to beat Petra Kvitova 3-6 6-3 10-5 in Sunday’s final on a temporary hard court inside the Tempelhof Airport hangar. Kvitova thus leaves Berlin with two runner-up finishes, having lost the final of the first leg of the competition to Elina Svitolina.

Earlier on Sunday, in a battle for the third place, home favorite Andrea Petkovic defeated Elina Svitolina 6-4 7-6(1).

Two surfaces (grass and hard), two champions — the Bett1 Aces organizers, led by tournament director Barbara Rittner, put on a flawless and unique event in these challenging coronavirus times.
