Adidas reveals City Lights tennis collection at Roland Garros

I thought that Adidas would just like Nike repeat the US Open collection at Roland Garros, but at the last minute they presented a new tennis collection called City Lights. This cold fortnight in Paris, Angelique Kerber, Garbine Muguruza, Kristina Mladenovic and Maria Sakkari are wearing the high-performance footwear and apparel pieces designed to make a statement on and off the court.

The collection features marble-effect prints with pearl metallic and glitter details, while muted tones of green blended with accents of silver complete the look.

Due to low temperatures and drizzle in Paris, players are wearing several layers, so we can’t properly see all the pieces. In this photo of Maria Sakkari from her first-round win over Ajla Tomljanovic we can see the new marble-printed skirt in action.

When it comes to footwear, the adizero Ubersonic and SoleCourt have also been reimagined with a marble and metallic affects style. Both silhouettes are available in hard and clay court outsoles.

The adidas SoleCourt features a TPU chassis, midfoot torsion bar, BOOST midsole, and 3D heel counter for extra durability, stability, and comfort. The SoleCourt silhouette also features PRIMEBLUE, a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic.

Meanwhile, the Ubersonic 2 is built for ultimate acceleration and agility with its reactive, lightweight EVA midsole, breathable net mesh upper, and lightweight sprintframe construction.

The new Adidas collection is available at Tennis Warehouse USA.

  1. Was this collection scheduled to be release for RG? Or this is part of the holiday line?
I thought Adidas clans were assigned to wear the Prime Blue collection?
Regardless, I love the black, but wish there was a pop of color! At least a line or something

  2. Ian, this collection is for Roland Garros, it was launched in Paris at the start of the tournament. The Prime Blue collection was released back in April, why would you think that they would wear that?

  3. I thought Prime Blue collection was for RG had it not been postponed till Sept?
Plus Rafa was wearing the outfit he was supposed to wear for the spring RG..

  4. Rhonda, at the end of this article you have a link to Tennis Warehouse where the collection is available, although only the dress and the skirt. You can also find the pieces at the official Adidas website.
