Maria Sharapova’s home photoshoot for new Givenchy collection

Maria Sharapova has innate sense of style and a lot of experience in posing for fashion magazines, so the Russian tennis ace didn’t need much effort to create stunning results using just a phone camera in the comfort of her home to promote the Spring/Summer 2021 Givenchy collection.

In these corona times we are forced to find new ways of doing things. Instead of flying to Paris and doing a professional photoshoot, Sharapova modeled the new Givenchy collection in her Japan-inspired Los Angeles home. The photographer was her talented friend and hair stylist Adir Abergel.

The five-time Grand Slam champion says that she needed 18 outfit changes and 17 minutes to complete the photoshoot.

This is the debut collection by Matthew M. Williams, a recently-appointed creative director of the French luxury brand. The 34-year-old is a self-taught designer from Pismo Beach, California. Givenchy announced his hiring in late June, by posting a series of black-and-white photos on their Instagram. That must be the reason why Sharapova also did a black-and-white photoshoot.

Visit the Givenchy website to have a look at the entire collection. The standout piece is a shoe with curved, chrome-tipped heel that looks like a horn.
