We’ll have one more mom in competition this upcoming season. Russian Elena Vesnina, who gave birth to daughter Elizaveta in November 2018, announced that she will be making her return to the WTA Tour later this year.
The former doubles world No.1 says that she’s very excited about the comeback, but at the same time a bit scared. Her schedule is still not determined. She’s waiting for the WTA to release the 2021 calendar.
The first WTA event this year will be the Abu Dhabi WTA Women’s Tennis Open, starting January 5 in the United Arab Emirates. The 34-year-old Vesnina will join the circuit later in the season.
