Players have arrived in the United Arab Emirates to start the 2021 season at the inaugural Abu Dhabi Women’s Tennis Open. Our photographer Jimmie48 is at the Zayed Sports City International Tennis Centre, so we have an exclusive insight into how players are preparing for the WTA 500 event, the first of its kind in the newly-revised WTA tournament nomenclature.

It was a busy day on the sunny courts in Abu Dhabi.

Look at these smiles! Karolina Pliskova and her new coach Sascha Bajin are definitely enjoying their cooperation.

Coach Tom Hill was taking photos of Maria Sakkari during her practice session.

Vera Zvonareva was concentrated on her work with Stephane Robert.

Marta Kostyuk gave a wide smile to our photographer.

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova also showed a victory sign.

The 2020 Roland Garros semifinalist Nadia Podorska is back at work.

Kristina Mladenovic was spotted warming up before practice.

Karolina Muchova was inspired for crafty shots.

Kaja Juvan of Slovenia was also on the practice court.

Garbine Muguruza talked to the press.

Elina Svitolina looked to be in a very good mood.

Just as Donna Vekic.

Coco Gauff was focused on her warm-up.

Anett Kontaveit and Daria Kasatkina enjoyed each other’s company.

Aryna Sabalenka had all the reasons to dance: the Belarusian won the last two WTA tournaments of the 2020 season.

Ajla Tomljanovic was also busy training this Monday.

The Abu Dhabi Women’s Tennis Open starts on January 5th. Top seed is American world No.4 Sofia Kenin.
