Aryna Sabalenka is the new world No.1 in doubles. The Belarusian has dethroned Hsieh Su-Wei from the top spot, after clinching the doubles title at the Australian Open with Elise Mertens.

Sabalenka has reached the No.1 doubles ranking for the first time in her career, becoming the 44th WTA player to achieve that feat. Together with Mertens, who has now climbed to No.2 doubles ranking, Sabalenka has won five doubles titles, including two Grand Slams and the 2019 Sunshine Double.

Recent months have also been exceptional in singles competition for Sabalenka, as the 22-year-old produced a 15-match winning streak across late 2020 and early 2021 with titles in Ostrava, Linz and Abu Dhabi.

When it comes to post-Australian Open WTA rankings in singles, Ashleigh Barty remains No.1, singles champion Naomi Osaka climbs one spot to No.2, Serena Williams reenters the Top 10 at No.7, while runner-up Jennifer Brady rises 11 spots, to a career-high of No.13.
