Fila is about to splash the Miami Open with tie-dye prints and playful pops of maui blue, rogue red and lavender frost. The new collection is called Tie Breaker. It will be debuted by Top 10 members Sofia Kenin, Ashleigh Barty, and Karolina Pliskova when the WTA 1000 tournament kicks off in the second half of March.
At first glance, the new clothes look very similar to Fila’s recent Top Spin collection. The Top Spin tie-dyes were introduced when the Tour resumed after the COVID-19 hiatus last summer and remained present on the courts until recently, as Sofia Kenin rocked the Top Spin Dress in Abu Dhabi in January.
This latest Tie Breaker collection offers three versions of a classic racerback tank, a multi-strap cami tank and a full coverage tank.
The Tie Breaker Racerback Tank comes in three distinct styles: printed, high-neck and double-layer.
- The Printed Racerback Tank, that the world No.4 Kenin is wearing in the promo pic, is all about the collection’s recognizable tie-dye print.
- The High-Neck Racerback Tank, chosen by the top-ranked Barty, exists in maui blue, white and sky gray, each with contrasting bonded tape down the side.
- The Double-Layer Racerback Tank puts a contemporary spin on a Fila classic with a contrast print, inside double layer bra which pops through strategically-placed cutouts in the back and straps for a burst of color. The style is available in white with a contrasting tie-dye layer, as well as morning mist with a sky gray bra insert.
The Multi-Strap Cami Tank features cross-back strap detailing in the white and maui blue with rouge red colorways.
The Full Coverage Tank is available in white with glacier grey piping and in a soothing lavender frost foundation piped with rogue red detailing.
Players can choose between three skort styles: the original 13.5 inch skort offered in maui blue / rogue red / lavender frost; a 13.5 inch Skater skort offered in four color combinations including tie-dye; and a 14.5 inch skort for a more traditional outfit.
The Tie Breaker Dress with front pockets is a court-to-street crossover that plays well in any setting.
For layering there is the unisex Tie Breaker Hoodie.
