Maria Sharapova is always on the lookout for a new business venture. Her latest project involves furniture. The Russian perfected her home interior design skills in the process of building and decorating her LA home and now she’s putting that knowledge into her first furniture collection created in collaboration with Vancouver-based Rove Concepts.
The glamorous tennis ace prefers minimalism and simplicity. Her designs emphasize versatility and function. Neutral colors ensure that people can easily complement their current home decor. Moreover, Sharapova’s imperative was to create designs that would stay relevant and beautiful for years to come.
Traveling the world, I have been able to see the way culture and design intersect. This collection was born out of my passion for design and inspired by my love of art and architecture.
The Rove Concepts x Maria Sharapova collection includes a mix of multifunctional essentials: a plush sofa, an upholstered bench, a minimalist coffee and side table, an elegant lamp and a rug made from 100% natural jute.
Pieces that have already found a place in Sharapova’s Japan-inspired California home are the tall lamp and coffee table. (source: Architectural Digest)
