Barricade shoes were first introduced more than 20 years ago, but in 2018 Adidas discontinued them and replaced them with the SoleCourt Boost model. Tennis fans urged Adidas to bring back their favorite footwear and the sporting goods manufacturer decided to carry on the Barricade legacy this summer with the footwear’s 2021 edition.
The latest Barricade reinvents the most successful Adidas tennis franchise with game-solving features such as a tested torsion system, an asymmetric lacing system, and geofit for comfort.
The torsion system, carried on from previous Barricades, provides stability even during the most aggressive changes of direction.
The asymmetric lacing system is a novelty that ensures an improved fit and locks your feet in when sliding on hard courts. The hidden lace construction keeps the upper of the shoe protected with abrasion-resistant materials for durability.
The shoes feature strategically placed sense pods that grip the back of your foot to improve fit and eliminate heel slippage. Bounce midsole technology provides exceptional comfort and flexibility. Aggressive movers will appreciate the optimal combination of cushion and responsiveness.
The release of the new Barricade sneakers comes together with the launch of Adidas’ tennis apparel collection ready for the 2021 US Open.
