I am glad to say that 2021 was much better than 2020 in the tennis world, although we are still very much feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, I can’t say that 2022 will bring a corona-free tennis experience, as we’re entering the new year surrounded by news about vaccination, infected players, and overall another stressful organization of the Australian Swing.

When it comes to Women’s Tennis Blog, 2021 was a good year overall. I enjoyed writing and interacting with my readers, I didn’t face many technical problems, and traffic numbers recovered after the disastrous 2020.

At the start of the year, I started sending out WTA news wrap-ups every few days to my email subscribers. So, if you want to get Women’s Tennis Blog updates to your inbox, you can subscribe here.

Towards the end of the year, I welcomed a new guest blogger to my team and I’m very excited about that cooperation. As you may have noticed, Yaseen Hijazi is now contributing once a week. He helps add a new voice to Women’s Tennis Blog, enriches the content, and broadens the range of topics we cover.

Thank you for being with Women’s Tennis Blog through all these years. I am grateful for having very supportive, kind, and respectful readers. The community here is the most valuable thing. Not a lot of you are active in the comments, but I know that a lot of people are regularly involved with my articles. Whenever I ask for some information or I make a mistake, my readers are there to help.

I am wishing you all a peaceful, harmonious and successful 2022, filled with love and good health. When it comes to the WTA tour, we can only hope that 2022 will have minimum disruptions, but I think we can expect it to be smoother than 2021.

Tell me in the comments below, how was your 2021?

Reminder: You have three more days to join our Top 10 ranking prediction contest and win Maria Sharapova’s autobiography “Unstoppable”. It’s easy to join. Don’t miss out on the opportunity!

And my year, it was hard. Lots of changes which I hate but everything seems to go in the right direction. Hope that yours is same 🙂

  2. Mateusz, nice to hear from you. I am glad to hear everything is now heading in the right direction for you. Thank you for supporting my blog, I really appreciate it 🙂

  3. Happy 2022 to you! My wish is for tennis and the world to recover from COVID and our lives can get back to normal!
Thank you for all your efforts doing the blog!

  4. Thank you, John, for always supporting my work on WTB. I am really looking forward to getting back to the pre-COVID world. I hope we will experience it soon enough, although it is apparent that it will not happen in 2022.

  5. Happy New Year to everyone, and hope that all of the WTB Nation has a safe, healthy, and prosperous 2022. I am officially retired now and plan on doing a lot of traveling by car & RV within the US. Already scheduled to see some major golf tournaments and hope to schedule some tennis tournaments as well, but more likely to do the tennis in 2023 when hopefully things will be easier here for air travel. I am planning to maybe go to the Western & Southern Open at Cincinnati, then, and possibly the US Open.
Thanks Marija, for the blogging…we all really appreciate what you do!

  6. HAPPY NEW YEAR to you Marija and to the WTB community/readers!!! All the best to everyone for 2022…I hope the New Year will be good for everyone and bring everyone good things!

Take care and stay safe everyone! 🙏
