Russian former world No.41 Margarita Gasparyan is expecting a baby. In her latest Instagram photo we can see that the tennis player is well into her pregnancy, although she points out that she still has some time to go.

The 27-year-old Margarita got married to Belarusian tennis player Sergey Betov in July 2021. Posting a photo from their wedding, Margarita wrote: “Happiness loves silence.” Her name on Instagram is now Margarita Betova.

The couple is expecting their first child and we can see the WTA star’s healthy pregnancy glow.

UPDATE on February 19: A reliable source informed us that Margarita has already given birth. Congratulations to the new tennis mom!

The last tournament Margarita played was the 2021 French Open, when she lost to American Ann Li in the first round. She’s won two WTA titles (Baku 2015 and Tashkent 2018).

In March 2021, she finished runner-up to fellow Russian Daria Kasatkina at the St. Petersburg Ladies Trophy. It was a heartbreaking moment, as Margarita was forced to retire due to a lower back injury.
