Adidas is treating the ladies with a new tennis shoe model designed to complement the style of play of women athletes and the specific need of the female foot. Meet Adidas Avacourt tennis shoes, endorsed by two-time Grand Slam champion Garbine Muguruza.
Created with female athletes in mind
For almost three years Adidas researched preferences, movements, wear patterns and scans from women’s tennis players. Using the loads of data collected during the research, Adidas designed a women’s-only sneaker meant to revolutionize the game. The overall proportion of the shoe, cushioning, tread pattern — everything was engineered to deliver a lightweight, stable, comfortable and agile tennis shoe to female players.
Foot scans showed that women have softer arches, so the Adidas Avacourt mid-foot support system was designed to avoid irritating the pressure points in female feet. Moreover, wear patterns revealed that women need extra protection against abrasion in the toe area, so Adidas added a protective material for abrasion resistance to help with durability.
Garbine Muguruza said about her new tennis shoe:

At this initial March launch, Tennis Warehouse already offers three colorways of the Adidas Avacourt, while more looks are yet to be rolled out during 2022.

There is also the bold, animal print Adidas Avacourt White/Purple Green Women’s Shoe, complementing Adidas’ apparel collection created in collaboration with South African designer Rich Mnisi.
