Soon after announcing pregnancy on Instagram, the retired tennis star revealed that she has joined Moncler’s Board of Directors and that her baby’s first business trip could well be in Milan.

“Humbled by the opportunity to become a small part of the present and future of such an iconic company,” Sharapova said.

Moncler is a luxury fashion company famous for their sports clothing for the mountains. The brand was born in 1952 in Monestier-de-Clermont, a small village in the mountains near Grenoble, France.

Besides Sharapova, additions to the new board include Nike Inc.’s former president Jeanne Jackson and Mercedes-Benz AG’s vice president of communications and marketing Bettina Fetzer.

Moncler’s chairman and chief executive officer Remo Ruffini said that new entrants will reinforce the brand’s “vision ‘Beyond Fashion, Beyond Luxury’ with their remarkable backgrounds and experiences. Ruffini explained that “their perspectives and insights will bring further momentum to the group’s understanding of youth culture and community building, as part of our journey to connect to more and new audiences around the globe.”
