Universal Tennis made its entrance into the sports fashion world by launching a collaboration with Fabletics last month. The new clothing capsule is one of many ventures by Universal Tennis to transform tennis globally and grow the game for players of all levels.
Following an explosion in tennis popularity, tennis-friendly clothing has become trendier than ever with brands launching clothing that seamlessly works on and off the court. The new Fabletics x Universal Tennis capsule features men’s and women’s clothing to support players of all levels in looking and feeling their best.
“Everything we do in tennis is about building new models that break down old barriers as Fabletics has demonstrated in fashion,” said Universal Tennis President Kelly Forese. “On our mission to transform tennis to make the sport more affordable, accessible, and fun, the partnership is a perfect fit.”
The new pieces include shorts, polo and fitted shirts, a dress, a high-waisted skirt, a unisex visor, a crewneck and ¼ zip sweater, jogger pants, and a sports bra. Universal Tennis-branded colorway options are white, navy, and pine green.
The collection is built for comfort and performance, featuring four-way stretch for lateral movement, moisture-wicking materials, multiple pockets, and built-in bras.
After establishing the UTR Rating as the gold-standard rating system of the sport, Universal Tennis expanded its mission to provide products and services to enhance the experience of all players on and off the court. Initiatives include the UTR Pro Tennis Tour (PTT), Paid Hits, Summer Camps, the Junior National Pathway, and Flex Leagues. Fabletics apparel will become the official outfitter of staff and officials for the PTT, which has been established in nearly 20 different countries.
The PTT was created in 2021 to provide valuable match play and guaranteed prize money to aspiring pros. By the end of 2022, Universal Tennis will have hosted more than 300 events, offering more than $6.5M in prize money.
Since 2013, Fabletics has created fashionable, high-performance active lifestyle products at an accessible price. The Universal Tennis capsule marks Fabletics’ first venture into tennis.
