The Czech Republic’s semifinal opponent will be last year’s runner-up Switzerland, whose Belinda Bencic and Viktorija Golubic recorded singles victories over Canadians Leylah Fernandez and Bianca Andreescu on Friday. The Czech Republic has won six of the last ten Billie Jean King Cup titles.

In the other semifinal on Saturday, Australia will play against home team Great Britain. The championship tie is Sunday, November 13.
