At the start of the 2023 season, we noticed that former US Open champion Sloane Stephens was no longer wearing Nike apparel, but we only assumed that her outfit was by Free People Movement. Now we have a confirmation that FP Movement is the American’s new tennis clothing sponsor, as she announced the news on Instagram.

“I’m thrilled to be joining the FP Movement team as their newest ambassador,” Stephens captioned an Instagram photo where we can see her wear the same orange skirt she sported in Auckland last week. “I’m looking forward to the support they will give me in my tennis career and in my efforts off the court.”
The world No.36 is confirming that she’ll promote the apparel company at the upcoming Australian Open: “I’m so excited to be in Australia wearing FP, and I know the FP Movement team will be cheering me on every step of the way.”
The 29-year-old Stephens is now the second WTA player sponsored by FP Movement, joining former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin who became their ambassador in January last year.
Free people is a creative brand so it will be interesting to see what they come up with. I wouldn’t have thought Sloane was the ideal representative though. It’s more of a hippy-style brand.
CLT, it’s interesting to see that they’re expanding in tennis now. I thought that Sofia Kenin would remain their only representative, as they are not a big brand, but they managed to sign another major champion.
